When will you upload more pages ? Because it is an awesome work, and if I'm now reading the silmarillion -which is a really hard to read because of all the charachters) I really like your interpretation of it. These first 20 pages were really fantastic, please tell me you will post more T.T
Well, this has been an utterly enjoyable read. Your style is deceptively simple-looking, but behind every line hides a purpose, and you get through SO MUCH emotions that it's mind-boggling. I sure as heck wouldn't be opposed to more of this.
Oh man, this is so awesome! It's like something I've been wanting to see happen since I was a kid after reading The Silmarillion (my favourite book). THANK YOU! I'm glad to see from the comments that you're trying to continue it Will definitely be watching!
Wow! This is awesome! I love your idea to make the Silm into a graphic novel! I actually haven't finished the book, I'm just starting out with reading it and it's a bit confusing and your pages of this graphic novel really helped me to understand it better. The last panel with the elves and the water and the stars reflected in the water is so stunning beautiful. Is there any chance you'll continue with this?
Thanks! I'm so glad you like--and that it helped you understand Tolkien's work even better. I'm trying to continue as we speak, but it can be a bit hard with all the other contract projects I have right now as well as my full-time job, but I am trying! I will keep you guys posted
I've just read through the first 20 pages and I would buy this in a heartbeat- I love your style- I believe it fits the tone and vision of the story, I think that once it has colour, it would truly do the beauty and majesty of the Valar justice
OMG, just found you and I'm completely astonished. Please say that you will continue this project!
Also I love it how you managed to condense a big part of the Simarillion in "just" 20 pages - it constitutes an awesome basis for a future animated movie - many people have wondered about how you can change Silmarillion into a movie. You've managed it in an ubelievable way...
Definately watching you and hoping this project will continue.
I've got also a question - could I translate it into Polish? I would credit you and never make any profit out of it, but I would love to make it accessible to the Polish Tolkien community... If you want, I could send you the whole translation and you would post it on your account or we could arrange something else...
I am definitely trying to! I try to work on it a little bit each day and hopefully soon I will be able to show some of the results here
Now, as far as translating it...it would probably be best if the pages are still posted here for two reasons. First, the only reason I managed to do it without any legal ramifications (yet) is because it is part of an academic endeavor--my graduate thesis, and is in no way making profit or being re-posted (as far as I know) for profit by anyone else. Second, I don't want even the potential of my artwork getting maligned in anyway by any community I can't monitor.
I think it's great that you want to translate my work and I would more than love to help spread the Tolkien love, but I think the best way to proceed is to keep my property within my grasp. I do hope you understand.
If you want to continue the discussion and want to talk translations that I can post here on my DevArt page then please feel free to send me a note
THE ELVES THE ELVES THE ELVES! If you know me, you'll know that I'm a total Elf (specifically Noldor) racist, and while I was enjoying your Ainulindale (and Valaquenta...?) series, I was also totally looking forward to a panel with Elves. YESH. Love the style as usual, I love the way you do poses and folds and hair. Especially the line-shading on the mountains.
