How do you get white against black?
Exceptionally careful brushwork, or color inversion in a photomanip tool?

For the star explosion, it's just the white of the paper, carefully trimmed by the black dry brush...For the constellation lines, it's a white gel pen. I don't have anything against Photoshop or any other computer illustration program, but I like to keep my inking traditional :)

Nice. This is really amazing. I always have to digitally clean anything I do; otherwise, it's covered in little stray bits of pencil, and it's too gray because Scanners are crap.

Oh yeah, I definitely mess with the levels and channels in Photoshop, but all the actual lines are definitely traditionally inked.
