This is so perfect! I just read up to the coming of the elves (there's nothing after that, right, at least so far?) and I'm almost crying. It's so good! I'm so happy I found this also, because I'm having severe Silmarillion withdrawal problems...I read the book but it was the library's and I had to give it back :( So now I'm trying to buy it. :)

If at all possible, it would be nice to have "Next" and "Previous" links.

Yeah...it would...

I'm not very technologically proficient...so if anyone wants to tell me how I can do that...that would be awesome :D

What I've always done is click "edit deviation" and put links to the previous and next pages in the author's comments. It can be rather tedious to do, though.

It's probably worth doing--thanks for the idea!

Yeah, there are some people who absolutely love certain comics, but feel frustrated when they have to search for each page, instead of having a nice little "next" button. For most comics, I would probably have dropped reading, but yours is so.... Pretty. And I LOVE Tolkien's works.
Can you write with Tengwar at all? That might look interesting.....

I'm working on lettering the rest of the pages. It's a bit slow-going at the moment since I'm getting ready to move... but keep checking back!

I have not read the Silmarillion, but there is something very special about the composition and imagery here that I just adore. I also love your lettering.

I'll have to recommend this work to a friend of mine who is a big Tolkien fan.

Thanks! One of the goals is to make the whole series more accessible to non-Tolkienites... or just non-readers of the Silmarillion in general. I'm glad that you find the overall look appealing. Also, thanks for noticing the hand-lettering :)

Yes--recommend it--all over the place--to everyone :D

When you see the characters, is something not expected for Tolkien's writings, too cartoonist, but, truly, this is amazing, the art is beautiful and conveys so much emotion, I loved it. Keep up your wonderful work.

Because Tolkien's work is literary, and his primary interest was in the world and not necessarily describing the characters, it can be hard to distinguish between characters. This is the problem that I've noticed with a lot people that haven't/can't read the Silmarillion. The goal in this project was to make both the world and the characters more accessible and interesting. In order to do that I had to come up with character designs that helped differentiate between characters. Even though it's not what I myself envisioned when I first read the story, I think these designs help to say something about each character--or at least I hope so :)

Thanks for your kind words!
